Oh Jaime! How we have loved documenting the engagement and now wedding of these two! I remember last year when Jaime and I were emailing like crazy back and forth looking for available dates and as you can see, I’m so glad we found one that worked and allowed us to be with these two on their wedding day.
I still find it amazing how many of our couples have been dating since high school. I mean… It’s over half y’all. Actually, Jaime and I met at Anna Frances’ wedding – who also married her high school sweetheart. I think something is in the water in Birmingham. No more water for baby Laurel…
Jaime’s day was filled with nothing but gorgeousness. M. Elizabeth Events transformed Vestavia Country Club like I had never seen, her invitation suite by Allison Banks was fabulous. Getting ready at the Tutweiler is pretty much my favorite. Her dress was to die for. The talented Emily Summerville was on point with hair and makeup for everyone. And I could go on and on. (Check below for all of her fabulous vendors!) But the best part of the day was getting to watch Jaime enjoy every single moment. Jaime looked like someone had given her a new puppy every time she greeted a guest, and the woman danced like there was no tomorrow.
What an honor it was to be a part of this celebration. Over the last few years, Jaime and her family have known the pain of too many hospital visits and question marks and long days and nights and to see her whole family enjoying this day and soaking in each moment was a delight. Jaime surprised her mom with a pink champagne toast at the beginning of the reception in honor of her and her battle with breast cancer. Cancer is outright ugly, but you can see how the bond between Jaime and her mother has only grown stronger and more beautiful through it all.
