Hi there! Welcome to the blog. It's the history of our time with couples and families during the days that they will one day treasure as the days that mattered most..

Hi, I'm REBECCA.

Laura Beth | An Alabama Maternity Session

October 3, 2012

Filed in: Family

I thought today would be an appropriate day to start blogging regularly again! Mainly because Laura Beth is having her baby TODAY and since I’m in Birmingham, this is the best I can do to celebrate long-distance.
I got a text this morning at 6:00am letting me know that LB and Brett are about to officially start their parenthood journey! Their little girl is on her way – at this very moment! AHH! So excited.
Laura Beth and I met my freshman year at MSU and quickly became friends. By junior year we were roommates, and by senior year we were planning our weddings together (both marrying boys named Brett) and having so much fun playing maid of honor for each other! We both grew up being the only girl in our families, so my roommates were the closest things I’ve had to sisters, and I dearly love and appreciate each one for surviving living with me. LB was always so patient, supportive, and fun. I will always remember apologizing profusely that my art/graphic design stuff looked like it blew up in our house and she would just say, “It’s fine! I know you’ll clean it up eventually…” haha! Or the time that I was burning paper for some crafty graphic design project and the house smelled to high-heaven and we couldn’t get the smell gone… then the next day I walk in to LB quietly making some delightful-smelling little potpourri type concoction on the stove to take the smell away – without ever complaining.  I miss our numerous late night talks and having a sweet and Godly “sister” literally right next door… as in, across the hall. I love our sweet and often hilarious memories together (like going on campus sophomore year in 80’s prom dresses at 3am for no good reason?!) and I cannot wait to meet her little one and start a new chapter of life with these THREE.
About 4 years ago, Brett and Laura Beth were my first “engagement session” back when I didn’t really know what I was doing and had no plans of being a professional photographer. Of course, it’s only fitting for LB to be my first real maternity session as well : ) I’m so glad to have some better skills to offer y’all, and so thankful y’all let me photograph you back in the day when babies and photography businesses weren’t even on the radar… so here we are!
Happy BIRTHday to your sweet baby girl!
