I’m pretty sure Seth and Mary Kathryn can be summed up in one word: adorable. I mean, really! Mary Kathryn still looks classy even when she cries… which is something that can never be said of myself. They’re so cute together and I’m glad we were there to photograph their wedding day. Mary Kathryn and I did not meet until the wedding day, but it was quite obvious that she and Seth were meant for one another. I have known Seth for several years through the Baptist Student Union at Mississippi State. He was always kind and dependable when we worked together on different projects. MK told me that they had gone to school together since kindergarten but (If I remember correctly…) they didn’t actually exchange words until late in high school. They’ve been dating ever since! Now they’re a little over two weeks into the “married bliss” stage of life – congrats to you!
One ridiculously embarrassing side note… notice the cans and LOTS of string on the getaway car. Well, yours truly was backing up toward the car while photographing the adorable couple as they ran toward the convertible. I backed up into the cans/string and got all tied up. The cans/strings wrapped around my leg and I was not able to move because, of course, you gotta get all the action shots. So, if I had stopped, I felt sure I would have missed something. When I realized a simple shake of the leg would not free me, I thought I should do something before I was dragged away with the couple to their honeymoon. Thankfully two men noticed I was in a nice mess and politely yelled, “DON’T GO” to the driver and helped me out of my tangles. A bit frazzled, we finished shooting and Seth and Mary Kathryn were off to their new life – without me.
More side notes: Looking at these photos I’m even more embarrassed because I knew in my mind there were at least 4 times as many cans that I got tangled in…Also, I’m so thankful for Brett’s help! He got some great shots all day, but especially while I was tied to the bumper of the getaway car. Needless to say, he had a little more freedom to get a good angle on those.
So, Seth and MK – thanks for providing me with yet another great wedding photographer story to tell.
