We had the privilege of meeting Samantha and Jonathan at their engagement session last year when they traveled all the way to Birmingham to meet us for a fun afternoon together. I just love getting to know our couples before the big day and using the engagement session to show them how much fun we can have together and that there’s no need to be scared of being in front of the camera! So, note to engaged couples: have an engagement session! It makes the wedding day so much more fun and gives you so many sweet photos from this fun time in life.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time together at Samantha and Jonathan’s engagement session and their wedding day was no different. These two were so sweet and welcoming, it just feels like we’re walking into a friend’s wedding day. Another thing I was thankful for was the fact that it was the perfect day for a winter wedding. It could not have been any more lovely for a wedding the weekend before Christmas! Never take for granted the lovely warm sunshine during a winter wedding : )
One of my favorite details from their wedding was a metal cross that Jonathan hand-made with his dad to have on stage during the ceremony. They made it with tools that had been in his family and used by generations before Jonathan. Brett and I love hearing stories behind details from weddings and I must say, this do-it-yourself project may have been one of the most intense we’ve seen! It was certainly a work of art.
Well, enjoy the sweet smiles, laughter, and fun that was had throughout the day! I’ll let the photos tell the story from here.
