It’s here! Caleb and Lia were married in January on the wonderful campus of Mississippi State University at the Chapel of Memories. I’m always thankful for a mild day, and even more thankful when the weather calls for rain and we only get some clouds – whew! Well, we loved working with these two and although we had not met face to face until the wedding day, it felt like we had known each other for years. I love that feeling : ) Lia and her sweet family had the wedding day details planned perfectly. Thoughtful details could be found everywhere throughout the day and Lia did a perfect job of carrying her emerald wedding colors throughout the decor.
One detail that I loved was the girls getting to choose their bridesmaids dress style and the guys getting to wear their awesome grey suits (with emerald green argyle socks, of course). I’m really loving the suit trend for the groom and groomsmen… and these guys definitely pulled it off perfectly.
Two unique things happened at this wedding that we’ve never had at a wedding before. The first, and perhaps most fun – was the fact that our sweet little bride, Lia, had been working at Disney for the last year or so as Belle from Beauty and the Beast! Of course, with Belle comes a few other princesses like Ariel, Snow White, Aurora, Jasmine… Oh yeah, they were there too. I’ll let you see if you can identify who is who in their “plain clothes” attire. Secondly, to complete a family tradition (Lia is the third and final daughter to be married) I was asked to photograph the entire congregation once the wedding ceremony was over. I’ve definitely never been on a ladder photographing a church full of people after the ceremony, but I must say it makes for quite a fun photo!
The reception was so fun and I loved the way they had themed food tables – Lia’s birthplace (MS), Caleb’s Birthplace (LA), where they met (MSU), etc. Guests also were able to browse a hutch full of Lia’s Disney memorabilia from her time at her dream job and dress up for the photo booth with lots of fun Disney gear. The rest of the night was full of dancing and more dancing… love it!
I hope y’all have had a wonderful first month of marriage and enjoy re-living the day through your photos : )
^ This is when I asked the guys to give me their “princess pose.” Lia… this was for you. I hope you enjoy as much as I did. ^ Fun post-ceremony congregation photo! ^ Of course, the night ended with some talented friends singing the Beauty and the Beast song as these two had one last sweet dance together.
