It was a month-long “blind date” that got these two together. A sweet little match-maker had known Cary from her previous church in Georgia and now was attending church with the adorable Melody in Alabama… and thought just what you and I are thinking, “Me-oh-my, wouldn’t these two just be the cutest together?” Sure enough her match-making instincts were right on as these two talked across state lines for over a month before they met in person. This time of year is definitely prime time for adorable Hallmark movies, and I must say, they would fit a script perfectly with their love story.
It wasn’t long before these two knew that this day would be coming. He popped the question on New Year’s and the date was set for the this November for Cary to make Melody his wife. Melody wanted to be married at her family lake house in Ashville, Alabama – a place full of memories, so why not top it off with having one of the sweetest moments of your life staged there? I love it when a wedding day is filled with meaning!
Everything was set for the perfect day. And then. The weather. Oh man. There was literally a hurricane on the East Coast that took joy in bringing us rain. All. Day. Melody was nervous and a bit sad over the day not being quite what she had envisioned (as every bride would be!) but after focusing on the true meaning of the day and the covenant she was about to enter into – Melody took the day on with grace and a heart full of JOY. Through the mud and through the rain, she smiled sweetly and enjoyed her wedding day to the fullest. I’ve seen wedding days become unraveled for the tiniest of mishaps, but to have rain pouring on your outdoor wedding and to choose JOY and contentment over bitterness was a thing of beauty. Well done Cary ; ) Enjoy that sweet wife of yours. And everyone else enjoy their beautiful rainy day wedding! Anyone can get married in the sunshine. It takes a solidly wonderful bride to dance in the rain!
