Courtney and Owen are just the most precious souls. We had the joy of being at their rehearsal dinner to document the fun and laughter there the night before the wedding. I so love hearing stories about our couples, the funny awkwardness that always seems to be at the beginning of a relationship and all of the stories that seem to say, “and despite xyz, we’re here today, who would have thought this day would come…” Maybe that’s why I like weddings so much. It’s the beginning of so much that is to come.
In 5 years, you’ll look back at these photos and think, “Here’s the day that started it all, and despite xyz, we’re still here today…” I look back at our wedding photos and feel like I hardly knew Brett compared to where we are now. We’ve experienced a taste of our wedding vows over the last 7 years – for better or for worse – and it’s been oh so good to grow together – a journey that started on our wedding day and Lord-willing will have many more decades to come.
I hope the same for you, Courtney and Owen! Y’all have moved all over since this gorgeous wedding day and I pray these memories bring you joy, remind you of why you chose her and why she chose you, and a be a reminder of a beautiful beginning with many years of growing together to come.
My favorite part of this oh-so-sweet day had to have been the dancing. The whole day was just filled with sweetness, and when it came time to celebrate that evening, no one held back. I tell you, this group can dance and I couldn’t love that more. Not to mention Tim Tyler was there, so that’s kind of all you need for a fabulous dance party. I had fun just watching everyone all night! And my favorite detail from the day would no doubt be their getaway car, which was the Groom’s grandfather’s pride and joy. I’m kind of obsessed with it.
Courtney and Owen, happy 1 year (plus some) of marriage! I hope you treasure each other today even more than you did this day last year. Thank you for choosing to have us with you for this sweet day!
