Hi there! Welcome to the blog. It's the history of our time with couples and families during the days that they will one day treasure as the days that mattered most..

Hi, I'm REBECCA.

David and Susannah – Bringin' in the New Year

January 22, 2011

Filed in: Wedding

You may recognize David and Susannah as one of our earlier clients. David was the thoughtful guy that asked us to photograph him proposing to Susannah. You can see that older post here. Needless to say, we feel quite attached to them since we’ve been a behind-the-scenes part of some of the biggest moments in their lives. It has been quite unique and fun to see their relationship progress and finally, for all of the planning to fall into place for such a beautiful wedding. To add to the fun, they decided to have their wedding in Starkville on New Year’s Eve!
Brett and I agree that we always feel we need to do something to celebrate New Year’s but never come up with anything that spectacular to do while waiting on midnight. If we could spend every New Year’s Eve at fabulous weddings such as this one – we’d be pumped. Everything was beautiful and the day went pretty smoothly, even though we had some big rain coming our way. But hey, I’ve been told it’s good luck to have rain on your wedding day. However, I’m pretty sure that is just what the other people say to the Bride when she’s worried about what’s going on outside. I can’t blame them – it rained on our wedding day as well. Raining or not – it made no difference to everyone having a great time at Hotel Chester waiting on 2011 to come around. We got some beautiful shots from the day and I hope David and Susannah have many more New Year’s celebrations together.
On another note, I am reminded of Phil. 1:6 today,”For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Marriage is the closest picture we have to salvation. It’s quite amazing when you think about it. I think about how David found Susannah, and chose her as the one that he would love forever. She accepted his offer, they prepared for the wedding day and for marriage for the next several months – then came the big day. Quite similar to Christ seeking us, right? He finds us, we accept, we work towards “being united” in heaven with our savior and one day “the big day” will come. What a celebration that will be. I’m sure I could write about this for some time but I’ll leave you with those thoughts for the day.
Enjoy their photos and be sure to watch the slideshow below to see lots of images from the momentous occasion!
PS – We worked with a fabulous Coordinator (Amber Frasier) and videographer (Steven Polly) if you need either of their services – I HIGHLY recommend!
