Hi there! Welcome to the blog. It's the history of our time with couples and families during the days that they will one day treasure as the days that mattered most..

Hi, I'm REBECCA.

Alex & Kevin | A Fabulously Southern J&D Farms Wedding

July 25, 2013

Filed in: Wedding

I don’t think I can say enough good things about Alex and Kevin, not to mention their amazing wedding day. I knew from the beginning that Alex had a perfect vision for her laid back wedding and I was so excited to get to shoot a wedding at the beautiful J&D Farms for the first time ever! I must say, Alex planned every detail perfectly – and there were lots of details to plan. Everything had a little touch of Alex’s perfectly southern style – from her unique wedding invitation (The graphic designer in me squealed a little when we received ours!) to the beautiful mismatched seafoam-colored bridesmaids dresses, all the way to her awesome leaving outfit (Hey fabulous blue boots and precious sequin dress!) – everything came together amazingly. I mean, these two were married in an orchard surrounded by trees full of tied lace – does it get any better?! I think not : )
My favorite part of the day was the fact that every little detail held a special meaning for these two. I love that her grandfather performed their God-honoring ceremony, amazingly talented friends were their musicians, and they even found a way to incorporate something near and dear to every Birminghamian’s heart – Doodles! Even the menu for the reception was unique and meaningful for these two – they love breakfast food – so breakfast was had by all! They had a bacon bar y’all. * heavenly *
Well, I’ll leave you to adore this sweet wedding day. Alex and Kevin, thank you for making us fee like family! We couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful day for you two!!

^ I love that moment when everyone sees the bride for the first time. ^ Isn’t she adorable? I love this sweet braided wedding day look. ^ I’m a sucker for blue wedding shoes. ^ Oh J and D Farms… how I love thee. ^ Blue dresses with cowboy boots? Yes! So perfect for their farm wedding! ^ These guys were fun : ) Thanks y’all! ^ Why yes, that is lace hanging from the beautiful orchard limbs over old church pews. Go ahead, swoon away. ^ I laughed when I saw everyone waiting on the ceremony decided to put their program/fan to use for some shade… ^ Through all of our planning chats, Alex told me how she loves hi-key images that are really sunny and airy feeling… The Lord made the perfect day for her for sure! LOVE this ceremony lighting. ^ Burlap chair covers and peonies! Perfection! ^ These two love coffee and bacon. Please, behold the stacks of bacon. Of course don’t overlook the mini pancakes and maple bacon sticky buns. (PS – I’m kinda a fan if you can’t tell) ^ We got to do a photobooth for Alex and Kevin! She had all of these adorable props and we had fun getting everyone to have fun with us ; ) ^ Beautiful sparklers, the end of a fabulous day, and a precious husband and wife. I love documenting these amazing moments.
