Hi there! Welcome to the blog. It's the history of our time with couples and families during the days that they will one day treasure as the days that mattered most..

Hi, I'm REBECCA.

Martha Claire & James | A Classic Birmingham Wedding

November 8, 2013

Filed in: Wedding

The beautiful Reid Chapel and Park Lane wedding of Martha Claire and James is here and what a beautiful day it was. There were so many fabulous details everywhere – all perfectly planned. One favorite detail, which everyone loved, was that Martha Claire wore her mother’s wedding gown! As you can see, her mom picked a pretty fabulous dress and even Martha Claire’s sister had worn the same one a few years ago at her own wedding. How fun is that to ALL have worn the same heirloom gown, and such a classic one at that!?
These two were so ready to be married. After a long engagement, they were beyond ready to become husband and wife. It was so fun watching Martha Claire throughout the process as she prepared for not only her wedding, but most importantly for her marriage. I remember them being excited about marriage counseling, preparing to have a home together, and all of the joys that come with anticipating marrying your best friend. Throughout the day Martha Claire just had these sweet moments where you could tell she was just taking in the whole experience. I love when a Bride can sit back and just be in the moment of all that is her wedding day. James was no exception… he was pretty giddy to see his Bride during the first look!
After our perfect morning on Samford’s campus, everyone headed to the reception which was held at Park Lane here in Birmingham. This was our first time shooting there and it was oh so lovely! Perhaps my favorite part was the band… oh my goodness they were the best! I really did love all of Martha Claire’s vendors, so many wonderful people helped make their day just what these two had hoped for.
Well, enough with the words – on to the photos! Y’all enjoy : ) ^A monogrammed veil?! Don’t mind if I do. How perfect!!^ I love that all of the brides had their initials put into the dress. ^ This groom is pretty excited about seeing his bride. ^ Ahhh! That bouquet! Blush and navy flowers – perfection. ^ Did I mention it was the perfect day outside? Yep. ^ Who doesn’t love Samford’s campus? ^ Gotta love a good navy bow tie. Perfect with the navy bridesmaids dresses! ^ I just love a blusher. * sigh * ^The beautiful view of downtown Birmingham! ^ A perfect sparkler exit!
