Hi there! Welcome to the blog. It's the history of our time with couples and families during the days that they will one day treasure as the days that mattered most..

Hi, I'm REBECCA.

Megan & Brett | An Alabama Farm Wedding

July 9, 2012

Filed in: Wedding

Happy month-aversary to Megan and Brett! Their blog post was supposed to be up last week, but this is one of those situations in life that being friends with a client is a blessing and a curse. It’s a “curse” for Megan because I know she’ll still love me even if her blog post is later than hoped… and of course a blessing to me to know this : )
Brett Long and I loved every minute of Megan and Brett’s wedding weekend. We were able to attend the sweet rehearsal and dinner the night before and I even got to stay with Megan and Brett L. with Brett R. the night before the big day.
I could go on and on about all of the lovely details throughout the weekend. One of my favorite things from the big day was having all of the bridesmaids stay with the bride in a beautiful Bed and Breakfast! This made for lovely getting ready photos and a super stress-free atmosphere. Hint for future brides: finding a lovely setting for your getting ready photos with your bridesmaids is the way to go!
The church where they exchanged vows was perfect for them. I’m pretty sure I have never seen so many joyful tears throughout a wedding day… my tears included. gah! Even the (pouring) rain couldn’t put a damper on the joy-filled afternoon.
Thankfully the rain came and went during (mostly) the right times of the day, allowing for everyone to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Alabama. These two worked so hard to transform Brett R’s family farm into the perfect reception location. Everything turned out beautifully!
I’ll let the photos do the rest of the story telling…^ These AWESOME red boots were Brett’s wedding gift to Megan. Well done indeed!^ Megan looked awesome in her dress from Dianne’s Formal Affair.
s^ The adorable Bed and Breakfast was amazing for a few bridal portraits before we headed to the church!^ This over-joyed groom set my tears off. Way to go Brett… you made me cry. ;  )^ The sweet “first look”^ I’m loving Brett’s peach, paisley tie. Great job on the details Meggs!^ The florals by Bonita Hamlin were beautiful! They fit the style of the day perfectly. ^ Y’all looked pretty fab in your peach dresses ladies. ^ Megan designed all of her wedding stationery! Invitations, thank you notes, programs… and the list goes on. Beautiful!^ Sweet prayer time with friends followed by her dad giving her an “emergency poncho” as he has done many times before. ^ Notice the “emergency poncho” makes its appearance! I loved this… I also adore the shot of her daddy and new husband taking care of their girl. * tear^ A fabulous simple and elegant cake! ^ Strawberry shortcake table for the groom’s “cake”^ Perfect favors for the drive home. ^ That’s right. They left in Brett’s BIG, green tractor. ^ Here’s a little surprise for the Bride and Groom that took place after they left. Good times… good times…

Oh my. These bring forth the same tears of joy I shed one month ago this very day. What an indescribably wonderful day you manage to describe to a “t” Rebecca! Every time I see your work, including your accompanying commentary, I think you have outdone yourself, only to learn I was wrong the last time I thought that! And when I think we all can relive this amazing day whenever we want thanks to Rebecca and Brett Long…oh my!!! Wonderful!

    Megan and Brett,
These photos are truly a gift to relive the memory of this
joyful and happy day. To see our oldest Granddaughter, who brought us so much joy from the time she was born, watching her grow up, and bloom into such a lovely young lady. Now,
witnessing her falling in love with Brett, her best friend,
and now her husband. God has truly blessed Megan and our
entire family…welcome Brett! Thank you, Rebecca for capturing
this beautiful love story in your photos.

Megan and Brett were the most wonderful couple to work with. They were just as beautiful in the inside as the outside. They knew what they wanted and it turned out great. I’m so excited to have run across these photos today when I was playing on the computer. See, I failed to take my camera that day and I love the photos. I can not say enough about Megan and Brett, just what a precious couple they are I have enjoyed so much looking at the pictures that you did a wonderful job on. Thank you so much.
